Familie de Rycke-Boeleart

Wij zijn Guido de Rycke en Martine Boeleart, Belgische eigenaren van de SK 362 (SK 12.50 Sedan). Naam; Mas d’O. Thuishaven: Terherne. Woonplaats: Geraardsbergen in België. Blankenberge, Nieuwpoort…

…Zeebrugge, St. Tropez, Hyères, amaai wie hee?? ooit zoveel bootjes gekeken?

The De Waal family

We are the De Waal family who own the SK 352, an SK Kotter Sedan 12.50 . Name: Chantiky. Home waters: Ooltgensplaat. By now we have sailed for at least 30 years. For approximately seven years we lived on our sail yacht: first on the Mediterranean Sea, then in the Caribbean…

…Venezuela and North America. We had a lovely time and it was a wonderful experience. Five years ago, when it was no longer possible to sail for health reasons, we decided to sail on a motor boat. Again it was our intention to live on board for a considerable part of the year (at least 5 months) and sail. We wanted to have as much comfort as possible! Although we miss the dolphins and the relaxation that sailing gives us, with our SK Kotter we did find what we were after. Now we enjoy sailing on the waterways of the Netherlands, Scandinavia, France and Germany. The big advantages: our own say in the process of building the ship, the large rooms and lovely wide gangways, the reasonable price compared to that offered by other shipyards. It is a no-nonsense ship which allows us to sail comfortably and enjoy long cruises. This ship makes us feel safe on bigger lakes and seas too. Disadvantages: I cannot think of any.

…new routes every day. We always used to sail on a dual-mast ship, but had to give that up due to back problems. First we rented a motorboat. When we moored opposite the SK Jachtbouw we saw the Bravo Tango (SK Pilot 12.50 metres) moored in their harbour. It was love at first sight! Gorgeous lining, windows that are on exactly the same level as the ship itself, classic appearance, a lot of space inside, many beds (6 of them!), a beautiful and practical kitchen, a lovely bathroom with a separate toilet and a spacious open hull. We never regretted it! We want to make longer cruises: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France. We both look forward to the next sailing season, because we both finished our professional careers. And we would love to go to Berlin. Advantages: solid ship with good sailing features, low air draught (2.48 metres), comfortably wide gangways and every inch has been utilised. In short: a great ship! Our disadvantage was something which does not concern the boat, however, it concerns the time of delivery. This was soon resolved, though, because they lent us an exchange ship. We wish to thank the staff of SK Jachtbouw once again for that!

The Kaptein family

We are the Kaptein family, proud owners of the SK 318 (SK 10.00 metres Cabrio (Convertible)). Name: Captains Cabin. Home waters: De kaag. Before we owned the SK Cabrio we sailed a Maril 880. It is a big, impressive open sloop: really a tremendous boat that…

…has all the luxury one could think of. For years it has given us so many wonderful sailing trips. However, in our opinions it lacked that little bit of extra comfort, whereas we did not want to lose the ‘open feel’ of the sloop either. We had a good look at every Cabin that we saw on the waters. It was in Weesp where we came across an SK Cabrio and it never escaped our minds. For that reason we have visited the boats exhibition at the SK shipyard. Unfortunately, no Cabrio had been displayed. So when a Cabrio was for sale and moored at their shipyard, we immediately checked it out to experience its ‘feel’.

At the time we could not have expected this visit would lead to a purchase. The no-nonse appearance and height when standing upright were important, but so was a fixed bed. The toilet and shower which are separated, the layout of the cabin and the hull which looked like the builders thought through well. Moreover, let us not forget the beautiful finish as well as the cool no-nonsense appearance: all these aspects gave us a special feeling. It resulted in a purchase which happened sooner than we planned. We came up with several adjustments ourselves and this, too, did not pose any problems for the SK shipyard. This way it really became our ship. Early July we collected our ‘Captains Cabin’ in Sneek. We immediately inaugurated our ship by sailing to De Kaag. On the IJsselmeer the weather changed, the wind got stronger, well up to 6 Beaufort.

The Cabrio sailed through all weather conditions without any trouble and everything kept working well. What else could one expect from a thoroughly built and heavy ship= We immediately knew what this ship is capable of. That day we decided to sail on to Amsterdam: the dust got washed off completely. For a long summer we enjoyed our new ship, made beautiful cruises. While we were still on holiday we sailed back to the fantastic waterways of Friesland. We only have to wait a little longer before our ‘Captains Cabin’ will be towed out of the indoor winter docks. We have already started counting down again… What adventures will be in store for us this year? We can be sure about this: an SK Cabrio is not to be sailed, it is to be experienced.
